During the past two years, Da Nang’s dragon bridge has amazed millions of visitors thanks to its unique features. Mind blowing!
Our recent article introducing you to ten of the most impressive bridges in the world ( see http://snip.ly/GGoU ) has overlooked one masterpiece in the sector, discover it now! If you are visiting Da Nang, one of the major port cities in Vietnam, make sure you do not miss out one of the city’s most popular tourist attraction. The Rong Cao – Dragon Bridge – was inaugurated in 2013, on the day of the 38th birthday of the liberation of Da Nang City. Crossing the Han River, it has a total length of 666 meters and possesses 6 traffic lanes.
So what does make this construction so special? Its design, firstly. Indeed, the architects have added a little twist to the structure by embedding a huge steel dragon in the bridge, which is gracefully illuminated by LED lights during the night.
As if that was not enough, the dragon is also spitting fire (or water, depending on its mood) at different times of the week. This award-winning USD 86-million structure is also unique and innovative because of its five steel tubes used for the arches of the bridge, which are not interlocking in any point.
The Dragon Bridge is expected to attract 3 million of customers per year, and is locally seen as the symbol of the city’s strong development and rise.
Shanghai Metal Corporation is selling LED lights, steel structures, as well as many more metal products globally, prioritizing manufacturing efficiency as well as environmental sustainability.
