On April 1, 1976, the two biggest Steves in the world’s history, Jobs and Wozniak, started a company called Apple that has had a major impact in our lives. Like many companies before and after them, the visionaire and the tech-guru started their business from a garage. Apple’s business started to gain momentum when an American investor with Finnish family roots, Mike Markkula offered his financial capital and expertise on January the first 1977. On April the same year, the company released its first masterpiece, the Apple II personal computer that turned out be a ticket from the garage office.
The next wave of success had to be waited until 1984 and the publishing of the Macintosh. Apple had brought to the market the first computer with a graphical user interface (GUI) already in 1983. But because the price of the computer called Lisa was too high for consumers, Macintosh had to be the solution. Macintosh’s ground breaking TV commercial, directed by Ridley Scott, was aired during the third quarter of Super Bowl XVIII on January 22, 1984.
Due to conflicts with the board of directors, Jobs was fired in 1985. According to his speech in the university of Stanford in 2005, getting fired from Apple was one of the best things ever happened to him. In 1996 Apple bought NeXt, the company founded by Jobs, and then began the era of iMacs, iPods, iPhones and iPads. In the beginning of September 2014, we all witnessed the publish of the new iPhone 6 and the Apple Watch.
Many companies after and before Apple have started their business operations from a garage. The list is long and it includes companies such as Disney, Hewlett-Packard, Harley-Davidson, Google, Amazon and Mattel to name but a few. Today’s start-ups, or, the multinational corporation of tomorrow have another choice besides a garage, shipping containers.
Shipping containers are a modular building material that is also durable and feasibly priced. Because of their physical properties, start-up business managers are able to design customized offices.

Siri: Try and be nice to people. Avoid eating fat. Read a good book every now and then.

Siri: My end user licensing agreement does not cover marriage. My apologies
You: What’s the best phone?
Siri: Wait… there are other phones? I think we both know that answer
You: Tell me a joke
Siri:I can’t. I always forget the punch line
You: Who’s your daddy?
Siri: You are. Can we get back to work now?
You: What are you wearing?
Siri: Aluminosilicate glass and stainless steel. Nice, huh?
You: Who made you?
Siri: Like it says on the box… I was designed by Apple in California
You: “I need to hide a body.”
Siri: “What kind of place are you looking for?” — and she offers you a tappable list of choices like Reservoirs, Metal Foundries, Mines, Dumps and Swamps.
You: “Open the pod bay doors.”
Siri: “I’m sorry. I’m afraid I can’t do that.” Then: “Are you happy now?”
You: “How much wood would a woodchuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?”
Siri: “42 cords of wood, to be exact. Everyone knows that.”

Are Smart Watches The New Smart Phone?
Remember back to when you played as a child: talking into your wristwatch communicator Knight Rider style. Now these fantasies have been realized in the new wearable computing innovation.
A torrent of new smart watches from small startup companies, including Pebble and MegaWatch, hit the market in 2013, and big companies have arrived as well: Sony, Samsung, LG, and Qualcomm all offer smart watches. Rumor has it that Apple will be joining the crowd later this year. And Google recently launched a new operating system, called Android Wear, that’s designed specifically for wearable-technology devices. LG, Samsung, and Motorola, among others, are making smart watches that run on this new OS.
But, are mainstream consumers ready for smart watches? According to a Parks Associates survey released in June of this year, just 4 percent of U.S. broadband households say they are very likely to purchase a smart watch in the next 12 months.
Most of the watches on the market today are what you might call “fashionably challenged” – they simply aren’t attractive enough to entice the masses. Moreover, Buzzfeed reports that lefties have been left out of the design, with humorous revisions to the current models proposed.
Motorola has bucked this trend, and has gone high class with a stainless steel casing and Horween leather bands, bringing a level of style other leather and cheaper metal options the other manufacturers had yet to try.
If you would like see stainless steel design from its inception, Shanghai Metal Corporation manufactures the stainless steel used for designer items like watches. Container Greenhouses – The Urban Organic Heaven
What if you wanted to eat locally produced and reasonably priced fresh organic fruits and vegetables during cold winter? Now it is possible, thanks to shipping containers.
Companies such as Freight Farms and PodPonics have introduced a new business model that converts second hand shipping containers into high-quality greenhouses that can be relocated almost everywhere. Every shipping container is manufactured according to ISO standards and they are also designed to be stacked into multiple layers. This enables the establishment of even bigger greenhouse complexes.
One major advantage of container farms is that now farms can be located closer to the places where the food will be eaten. Thereby, say, restaurants can minimize their shipping costs and still offer their customers fresh and high quality food. Also the technology associated with the business ensures a safe plantation of fruits, herbs and vegetables.
Damien Chivialle‘s model of urban farm units (UFU) has a system that uses live fishes and to to fertilize and recycle the farms water. Every container has a fish tank whose water flows in a closed circuit. The fish feces are broke into pieces that are utilized as fertilizers. The system also produces some methane for the farms secondary energy source. (source)
Also PodPonics’ solution is said to use 90 % less water because the water is recycled. The roots grow in water, not in soil. This solution minimizes the use of fertilizers and enables the adding of nutrients only as needed (source). PodPonics’ and Freight Farms control systems can both be operated with a smart phone.
The use of shipping containers as green houses seems to enhance the nutritional values of vegetables, herbs and fruits. It also enables companies to produce them closer to the people who end up eating them. Because of a really low Co2 footprint and lack of pesticides, urban farms create ultimate food safety. Now this food safety can also be enjoyed by average consumers because the cost of maintenance of urban farms seem to be feasible. For example PodPonics’ containers cost US 1800 to 2800 depending on their condition (source).
In order to establish an urban farm, shipping containers need to be purchased. Shanghai Metal Corporation is a reliable provider of internationally standardized shipping containers. How Should You (Not) to Use Gold?
If only I had a lot of gold, I would have a bathroom of gold and every day I would use golden toilet paper to wipe my tush. Come on, who really wants to use gold that way? Well apparently there are people who do, because some companies manufacture gold bathrooms and gold toilet paper. People can purchase 22-carat gold toilet paper rolls with US 1.4 million in Dubai. These are not the only weird instances of using gold. The expensive material has made a lot of people crazy.
Some people take really extreme with gold. It’s not necessarily a bad thing. Creative out-of-the-box thinking has made it possible for people to create beautiful gold masterpieces.
The list of unusual gold products is long. Vibrators, iPhones. MacBooks, Legos, Coffee makers, Christmas Trees and so on. There are even golden Porches and Mercedes cars. A golden iPhone 5 is worth of seven normal iPhone 5s.
Even more interesting is that they even make edible objects out of gold. There are gold cheese, ice cream, chocolate and mineral water with gold chips. Do some people actually have so much gold that they can afford to eat it? See the list of original articles to find out more of bizarre gold objects.
In order to find that much gold or even silver, you need a professional rock crushing tool for separating commercially valuable minerals from ores and a vibrating screen from locating them from the crushed rocks. Shanghai Metal Corporation has a long experience in offering excellent mining machinery for businesses worldwide. To know more about our machinery, please visit our website. Is Your Phone Also Lawn Mower-Resistant?
Do you own a lawn mower? If so, you also have a way to test your phone’s durability. You might already know how.
Yahoo Tech has published an article how Samsung’s Galaxy S4 survived from getting run over by a lawn mower. Originally Samsung has promised the phone to be dust-proof and water-resistant. Luckily a “tester” also made it clear that the phone is also lawn mower-resistant.
The story told that while the user was cutting his grass and meanwhile listening to music, the phone dropped out of his pocket and found its way under the lawn mower. The phone was hit by the blade cutting off one corner. Still, the phone worked properly and continue on playing the same song.
According to iphonehacks.com website, a woman in Illinois accidentally ran over her Apple iPhone 5s with a lawn mower. The phone was crushed into pieces leaving the woman in financial despair. In addition, she hadn’t saved her photos on any external source and thereby lost all of her photos.
The woman made a sacrifice for all the people in the world by letting everybody know that Iphone 5s is not lawn mower-proof. We can only cherish her legacy and keep our iPhones out of lawn mowers. A Twitter search reveals that this sort of an accident is not as rare as we would expect.
If, for any reason, you want to test your phone, Shanghai Metal Corporation sells some excellent lawn mowers. Our mowers are also terrific in their primary usage, aka cutting grass. To learn more about our lawn mowers, please visit our site. Please also follow us on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook.
