Have a burrito superhero costume and show your pride for your favourite taqueria!

Step 1 : Wrap yourself in aluminium foil. Step 2 : Tape a construction-paper with your favourite taqueria to your foil-clad chest. Step 3 : Find something cape-like and accessorize it with boots, tights and cute underwear. Step 4 : You are ready to rock the Halloween party!

Impress girls with your “Monopoly” money!

Step 1 : Get a pair of feathery angel wings and attach them to the back of your jacket. Step 2 : Take $500 bills from Monopoly game. Step 3 : Make a halo from a rolled-up aluminium foil and make it hover above your head. Step 4 : Feel good, cause you are rich (at least during a Halloween party)

Hang Your Garden Up-Side Down For A Sustainable Artwork

Designed for homes, LivingLight is a multifunction device that serves as luminaire and hanging garden. The concept behind LivingLight is very simple. It doesn’t need to plug into a wall to work – actually the moist soil acts as an “earth battery”. How does it work? A copper cathodes and zinc anodes are pressed into the soil and connected to each of the 4 OLED LightBlades via 2 spring loaded contacts. These panels, in turn, are highly efficient, since it’s combined with biodegradable cellulose based thin-film battery that stores energy drawn from the electrolytes in the moist soil not used during day time.

LivingLight can be hung from the ceiling in clusters to create ‘hanging gardens’ indoors. A thin membrane avoids soil to fall out the bottom opening, securing the upside down vegetable plants to stay put and close to the light source. Another feature is the oil-free Cork Polymer Composite (CPC) pot, which is water impermeable and rot-resistant, whilst degradable and recyclable.

The herbs are watered through an ingenious gravity-based system that provides hydration for your plants via a large top-feeding water reservoir located at the top. Made of recyclable glass the reservoir reduces the maintenance cycle, also saving the water lost through evaporation and drainage in ordinary upright indoor plants.

LivingLight was designed by Michael Oechsle and was part of the Electrolux Design Lab 2012, reaching top 80 for global nominees. Its style and functionality call attention, especially when it comes to making the most of limited indoor spaces. It cleans and purifies the air indoors, whilst providing fresh goods grown in a sustainable and natural manner.

Les tuyaux d’acier carbonique seront fort probablement la nouvelle référence dans l’industrie de la canalisation de gaz et de pétrole.

Plusieurs raisons mettent l’acier carbonique à l’avant des autres produits, dans les grands projets de conduites industrielles. L’acier carbonique a l’avantage d’être sûr et facile à travailler, car il n’a pas besoin de produits chimiques comme la colle ou des pesticides avant l’installation. La haute résistance à la corrosion, produit chimique, ravageurs et inflammabilité sont propriétés essentielles pour tous projets à long terme et cette alliage les a tous.

La fuite de gaz est l’un des plus grands problèmes dans l’industrie de la canalisation. Toutefois, ce problème peut être évité voir éliminé avec l’acier carbonique, car il possède une meilleure résistance aux chocs et une meilleure réponse aux vibrations de toutes sorte. Les chocs et les vibrations viennent essentiellement de l’environnement avoisinant à proximité des lignes de conduite ferroviaire ou de la haute pression lorsque la canalisation doit passer en eau profonde. Si les conduits sont déjà en mauvaise condition ou si le matériel est de mauvaise qualité, des microfissures vont se créer et le risque d’une fuite de gaz augmentera pour chaque prochaine vibration.

Du point de vue économique et écologique, l’acier carbonique a la propriété d’être recyclable sans restriction sur le nombre de cycle, ce qui réduit les émissions de CO2, du fait que nous n’avons pas à extraire le minerai brut à nouveau. Pour tout projet vert ou ayant comme but un minimum d’impact environnemental, l’acier carbonique représente le meilleur choix pour les industries.

Michelin a lancé un prototype de roue à la fin de 2010, avec un design simple et brillant.

Le concept est de réduire la quantité de caoutchouc sur l’ensemble du pneu et mettre des lames métalliques flexibles pour réduire les vibrations et les chocs pour le conducteur, cela remplace le rôle de la chambre à air des pneus conventionnels.

Ce concept permet de réduire considérablement le besoin en pétrole et de réduire la pollution relié à la fabrication de pneu. En outre, la forte proportion de composite en acier assure que ce type de roue est facilement recyclable et réparable, parce que l’acier simple et l’acier carbonique peuvent être recyclés indéfiniment sans affecter la qualité du produit à long terme. Cependant, il y a fort à parier qu’il faudra des métaux de bonne qualité pour une utilisation soutenu et pour les véhicules lourds.

Comme vous pouvez le voir, ce prototype est parfait pour tous les types de véhicules et surtout pour ceux qui ne sont pas équipé de suspension. Malheureusement, l’industrie du pneu n’est pas prête à faire ce changement pour l’instant, car la conception à grande échelle de ce modèle suppose qu’il doit changer plusieurs usines et revoir totalement la chaine de montage.

Ce changement semble actuellement trop cher pour Michelin. Néanmoins, il nous permet de voir ce que le prochain modèle va ressembler lorsqu’il sera le temps pour Michelin de créer la prochaine génération d’usine à pneu et roues.

You Will Like This New Concept: “Little Saturday”

Little Saturday is a concept adopted in Norway, Finland and Sweden, that adds Wednesday to the list of “drinking days”, with Friday and Saturday. Many nightclubs and bars stay open late and offer many kinds of little Saturday specials (rock shows, cheaper drinks etc.). Norwegian teenagers and young adults often use Lille Lørdag as a synonym for Wednesday (Onsdag in Norwegian.) The same concept also exists in some other Nordic countries. In Sweden it is known as Lill-Lördag and in Finland it is called pikkulauantai.
